Press release from 2/11/21 | musicpark - canceled

musicpark will not take place in 2021

The pandemic development and the accompanying restrictions make it impossible for Leipziger Messe, exhibitors and participants from the musical instrument sector to reliably plan the music experience fair, which focuses on the direct experience of musical instruments, in June 2021.

In addition, the expected necessary safety and hygiene measures do not allow for such an interactive public event with trying out instruments and personal exchange with professionals. This is also opposed by the current restrictions for the cultural and live entertainment sector as well as travel restrictions that do not allow the participation of guests from the international music industry.

    musicpark 2022 from 11 to 13 June

„After the successful premiere of musicpark in November 2019, we were very much looking forward to the second edition of the music experience fair in June 2021," says Markus Geisenberger, managing director of Leipziger Messe. "We deeply regret the decision to cancel. but are now concentrating all our energy on the preparations for the next musicpark, which will take place from 11 to 13 June 2022."

Due to the strategic rescheduling, the music experience fair will in future open its doors permanently in early summer with an adapted sequence of days from Saturday to Monday. It will take place parallel to and in cooperation with the traditional Bach Festival (10 to 19 June 2022). Visitors to musicpark are invited to get to know Leipzig as a city of music in all its varied diversity - during the day at the fair and in the evening at other musical highlights.
