The Stage is Set for the Second Edition of musicpark!

After a break due to the pandemic, the music experience fair for acoustic, mechanical and electronic musical instruments will be back at full volume from 11–13 June 2022. There will be musical instruments of all shapes and sizes on show across six exhibition areas. Dedicated areas encourage visitors to try out the musical instruments. Various stages promise goosebumps amidst the hustle and bustle of the fair, while special themed areas encourage visitors to exchange ideas. They all have one goal: To once again make it possible to experience the full variety and delight of musical instruments. The "Safe Expo" hygiene concept ensures a safe and relaxed trade fair experience.

"At last, our exhibition halls will once again be filled with music", explains Markus Geisenberger, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe. "The industry is desperately looking forward to talking to customers in person again. And this is exactly what our unique concept will offer. By combining our wide-ranging exhibition with a range of hands-on experiences, we will be able to truly and sincerely demonstrate the thrill of playing music."

The event is being moved from November to early summer - as already planned for 2021 - and will in future run from Saturday to Monday. While the weekend will mostly cater to private visitors interested in experiencing music, the programme on Monday will be tailored more towards the interests of young musicians and trade visitors. Schools and music schools will be able to visit the event as part of their educational concepts.

Furthermore, musicpark enters into a particularly fruitful symbiosis. Parallel to musicpark, the renowned Bachfest Leipzig will take place from 9 to 19 June. According to the motto "BACH - We Are FAMILY", leading Bach interpreters will walk the paths of the widely ramified musicians' family of Bach. Bachfest visitors can also discover the world of classical music at musicpark.

There's Something for Everyone at musicpark!

You can take our word for it. Across a total of six exhibition areas – Guitars & Amps, Drums & Percussion, Stage, Studio & DJ Equipment, Band & Orchestra, Pianos & Keyboards and Education & Media – visitors can discover new instruments and accessories of all kinds and try them out, there and then.

But that's just the beginning: The interactive areas also invite visitors to learn all about the instruments and gain their first musical experiences. In the PlayZones, visitors can join small groups and learn to play their first notes under professional supervision. They will be able to play short musical pieces almost straight away – giving a real sense of achievement and establishing an instant rapport with the instrument. TestZones are open for both beginners and more advanced players to individually and extensively try out the instruments. "We are convinced that enthusiasm for musical instruments is generated first and foremost through personal experience", explains Project Director Constantin Strobel. "All of our offers are geared towards directly experiencing an instrument and its possibilities - so that you'll never want to let it out of your hands again."

Individual Live Experiences

Live really means live – on all stages. The SoundBoxes are small rooms that are acoustically isolated from the general noise of the fair, offering visitors a perfect sonic experience. Professional artists will be performing in the SoundBoxes to show both beginners and professional musicians where a musical journey can lead. Visitors can see amazing musicians up close, be entertained and take away some tips and tricks for playing their instrument.

The ShowStage features "360 degrees of music". Here, various instruments and genres are performed: from classical to rock, pop and electronic. For those newcomers who are brave enough, the OpenMicStage is open for spontaneous live performances in front of an audience.

The Stories Behind the Music

Music is about more than just sound, and also offers many exciting stories and interesting characters. These will be presented in detail on the StoryStage. You can find out about specialist topics in the Corners. These meeting points provide places for discussing particular subjects of interest. Those who prefer private talks can retire to the BusinessLounge. Here, exhibitors and trade visitors can meet in a relaxed atmosphere to juggle new ideas.

Safe Expo: Guaranteed Safety at the Trade Fair

musicpark is all about the pure joy and fun of playing music – and that is exactly why the safety of everyone involved is a top priority. Despite the pandemic-related restrictions, our field-tested Safe Expo hygiene concept guarantees all visitors and exhibitors an optimal trade fair experience, with appropriate social distancing and comprehensive hygiene measures. The concept is continually updated according to current requirements and can be viewed at any time at https://www.leipziger-messe.de/safeexpo.
