Don't miss the stories from Didi Zill's exciting life! Marcel Theneè, publisher of the magazine guitar in the publishing house of PPV Medien, creates this interesting interview with the legend in the music business. Didi Zill, as everyone has called him for decades, founded the band DIDI & HIS ABC BOYS, which made some records in the style of the beat and guitar bands of that time and - with him as frontman - had appearances all over Germany and even abroad. In 1969 he changed sides and joined BRAVO, where he began his work as a photo editor. On his first big trip to the USA, at that time with only one camera and 3 interchangeable lenses, he took his first photos with Sonny & Cher, Creedence Clearwater and High Chapparal-Stars. Larger orders followed in the following years and decades. Didi Zill photographed all German stars of the charts as well as many international stars like Neil Diamond, Tina Turner - at that time still with Ike at her side, Jethro Tull, Peter Fonda, Ringo Starr, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, Queen, Deep Purple and many, many more. In between there were many orders for LP and single covers, like the Bellamy Brothers, Deep Purple, Peter Maffay, Udo Jürgens as well as the national soccer team. He also worked as a creative director and photographer for many Boney M covers.
