DENNIS HORMES TRIO
11/1/19 | 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM time
Measured by his musical career, DENNIS HORMES should be an old bone of at least seventy. But with just 34 years of experience, the guitarist from North Rhine-Westphalia, who is also active as a producer, songwriter and singer, can already look back on a career lasting almost two decades in which he has toured the world with artists such as T.M. Stevens, Fettes Brot, DJ Bobo, Tom Beck, Luxuslärm, Roachford, The Boss Hoss, Marc Terenzi, Daliah Lavi, Mark Medlock, Dieter Falk and Richard Sanderson - to name just a few - as a session musician, has toured Europe for almost 3 years with the musical "Richard o'Brien's Rocky Horror Show" and has immortalised himself on well over 40 recordings. He also developed the "Retro Tube 50/100 Gitarrenamp" together with ENGL.
DENNIS HORMES was already on stage at the age of 12, playing concerts and sessions as a 14-year-old with well-known scene musicians such as Rocco Klein, Andreas Schmidt-Martelle, Hannes Bauer, Martin Engelien, Tiziano Lamberti, Bill Bickford, Thomas Blug, Wolf Simon, Charlie T. and many more. At the age of 16, DENNIS was an endorser for Gibson Guitars and still holds the record as the world's youngest endorser of one of the most famous guitar brands.
However, DENNIS HORMES focuses on his career as a solo artist. With his DENNIS HORMES BLUESBAND he played and sang alongside Dieter Steinmann (Klaus Lage Band) on drums and Martin Engelien on bass. DENNIS HORMES is still musically and amicably connected to the latter; he played several times at Engelien's concert series "Go Music" and his current album "Six String Therapy" was released on Engelien's label A1 Records.
On this - his second - solo album, DENNIS HORMES is now strumming more rocky sounds. The former guitar prodigy proves once again that he has become one of the best guitarists in the world. On "Six String Therapy" the musician shows that he not only has nimble fingers, but is also absolutely brilliant in songwriting and vocals. DENNIS completely renounces the covers of well-known classics, which are often taken in blues/rock circles. The 12 songs on "Six String Therapy" were all written by HORMES himself. It goes without saying that the busy string witch is responsible for all guitars, vocals and the production of the album. Robert Lindemann on bass and Jerome Lellouche on drums round off the silver album recorded and mixed by Christian "Moschus" Moos at Spacelab Studios. The mastering of the album was done by Fritz Fey.
Live DENNIS HORMES is currently supported on bass by Benny Koch (drums) and Claus Fischer (ex-Stefan Raab Band).
